Does anyone have the Bilstein dual steering stabilizer set up from Top Gun Customs installed on a stock height 2011-2013 Super Duty 4x4 ? TGC's website says this dual stabilizer can only be installed on a truck with at least 2 in of lift. I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work on a stock height truck.
Because I am about to put on 35 12.50 20 Nitto Trail Grapplers on. I have 295 60 20 Terra Grapplers now and I feel like I could use the dual set up now. I am also changing out my crappy Rancho shocks for Bilstein 5100s. I hear good things about them from a lot of guys on here.
I was looking at doing a dual steering stabilizer on my truck, 4 inch lift on 35's and the guy from the shop I go to said it was a waste of money unless I'm planning on going to jump to 37/13.5's in the future. He told me to look into just replacing the steering stabilizer I have with a better one and that should suit me just fine.
I put Bilstein 5100 shcoks on my SD, but even though I like Bilstein products I really dont notice much difference, it still feels like a truck when empty. Loaded down does ride a lot smoother though.
Probably the same reason the dual rancho kit requires a minimum lift, it'll hit. Some folks in the 6.7 forum tried putting the dual rancho kit on a stock truck and it didn't hold up, something (can't remember exactly) was hitting.
A good single stabilizer can go a long way (and is up out of the way too in the factory location). I ran a single 50/50 Fox shock on my 2000 that had 37's on it, never had a problem with it. Duals have their place, but anything smaller than a 37/38" tire seems like a waste of money and overkill, but that's just me. I like the 7100 I have now, it's up out of the way and has some adjustability to it.
I decided to go with the Bilstein 5100 single steering stabilizer and 4 Bilstein 5100 shocks. I got the 4 shocks and the stabilizer for a little more that the dual stabilizer set up.
Yes I got the shocks and steering stabilizer installed last week. The install was way easier than I expexted. I've never done shocks before. It took me about 2hrs total for all four shocks and the steering stabilizer. My Rancho front shocks were shot. They are sitting in my bed still compressed. The Bilsteins look way beeter than the Ranchos. My truck seems to be less bouncy now and the steering feels a little tighter also. Overall I'm happy with them.
Can I get some quiCk help I'm installing the billsten steering damper 24 - 196284- the calapsed length is 21 inches but Bilstein website says it should be 19 inches? and the factory 1 Is 18 Inches collapsed. Also the factory nut to hold on doesn't fit on to the billstein 1 the threads are different. The billstein didn'T come wiTh any hardware. DiD I get the wrong 1?
I just checked my stabilizer. I have the same part. Number that you are trying g to install. I didn't have any trouble when I installed mine. What year is your truck? I know there are two different part numbers that were listed on one of the websites I was looking at. I found the right part number on Bilsteins website.
2012 f350 4x4 ' the numbers on the body of the new billstein 0627123 24196284HO. Could some one check there numbers for me? Also what size nut do I need to attach the draw link end? Thankyou
Well I put it on , it was a 12 mm nut, its not right it restricts right turn a about an inch, but left turn is ok it has enough extension, ill have to call on Monday
