I just bought a 2013 F-350 with the 6.7. It's an XL and has some options but the drivers door keypad is not one.
I took the door panel off today to hoping there would be a plug for the for the keypad but there wasn't. Has anyone added a keypad without having the correct wiring harness in the door. Any idea if my truck has all the correct hardware and modules and is just missing the wiring or if this is a lost cause?
I know there are battery powered stick on keypads but I'd prefer to go the hardwired route if possible.
Does anyone have any sources for the wiring diagrams that would be useful for this project?
To add the hardwire version is going to require you to replace the door harness, cab harness, cut a hole in your door and possibly replace the BCM. The better option it to buy the key fob version that you program into the truck and stick it onto the door.
Running new wires from the BCM to the keypad and cutting a hole in the door doesn't bother me. The cost of a new BCM could be a deciding factor. First thing I can think of looking into then is seeing if the part number is different for my BCM vs the same truck that has a keypad.
