I got a burning smell from my truck last night after remote start and It does have one every now and then as I turn the heater controls, 2021 f250,
the only thing different between normal start and remote start id the rear window and mirror heaters come on Any thoughts?
I have a 2022 XLT F250 6.2L 6r100. I also recently smelled something like burning plastic. It was worst when I had my doors open. Wife noticed first on passenger side. It was cold, I had been driving for over an hour 30 minutes. I had used "Slippery" mode and wrote it off as maybe 4x4...and later read that Slippery mode doesn't activate 4x4. Does any of that sound the same as your cases? I'm close to 10k miles fwiw.

Hi there. Feel free to send us a DM with your vehicle's VIN and mileage. We'd be happy to look into this for you.
I also got the burning electrical smell today. Got the smell through the vents, but also noticed it when I got home from under hood. 22’ 7.3 going to keep an eye on it, I’ll see if it does it again in morning.
2017 F-350 King Ranch 6.7, last week same issue with auto start and cold outside, what I found after much searching look under passenger seat and found the ground wire going into a module or whatever its called(Part# GU5T-14B663-AA) was melting HOT so turned off the seat heaters and it cooled down. The plug is melted and wont unplug.
I agree w/ @speakerfritz above. This past weekend when we had a colder front in TX, I remote started the truck several times. The automatic high-idle kicked in and it was noticeable (sound) to have the truck idling at 1k RPM. And depending on the wind, the smell of the DPF burning can get trapped under the bed, under the truck, and waft up through the engine compartment. It can also leak into the cab if the heat / defroster is blowing during a remote start, especially if the HVAC system is taking in outside air (which it usually does during heating/defrosting). I think you're smelling a normally operating system.
