Should be in Royal Oak Thursday. 600 miles thru 5 states one way makes for a long day.
Saturday evening we will be set up at Normady rd for the dream cruise. Between 13 and 14 mile rds. Daughter said it is aready crazy, probably has something to do with raodkill nights, maybe next year.
Looking forward to some Jets pizza. Don't have any of those around here (sw of st louis). Around here it is cardboard thin crust with provel cheese.
We catch I-70 in IL, east to Indy, north for a while then a right turn to OH, and then I need google maps thru Toledo. I've been practicing for Detroit. Speeding excessively, weaving in and out of traffic, and taking the exit from the fast lane at the last second. Have been to chi town, don't really care to see it again. We did ride the ferris wheel at navy pier years ago, and again a couple of years ago when it was moved to Branson.

yup, that sounds like the Detroit I drive in everyday in a semi.
Here's today's fiasco on I-94, 4 semis, freeway closed.
Got to meet one of your fine, upstanding citizens friday afternoon when she rear ended me. Uninsured **** bum. Pushed the passenger side of the rear bumper foward and up about a 1/4" each direction on my f250. Still not sure I am going to submit a claim yet. At least she should be off the road for a little while, took out her front grille and all of the front lites. Glad we weren't in the wife's 6500 mile toyota, would have been much worse for us.
Comfort inn in clawson/troy. Discovered an ant infestation the first morning (Friday) after we found the baked goods my wife spent half of Wednesday baking covered in ants. The rear door card reader we had problems with in January had failed completely, did not seem in a hurry to repair that or the outside handle that was half pulled off. And what is up with the room service only every 3 days? They expect you to use your bath towel 3 days on a row? Bet there is a fresh towel ar their house every morning.
The lot was 25% ontario plates. They were drinking late on the lot every night, eh. They left a calling card out back that was there for over 24 hours before we left.
We tried to have a good time anyway. Met some nice people and ate some good food. Saturday was a mad house. Tens of thousands lining both sides of the street. After a while it seemed like we kept seeing the same cars. Had to move up and down the street to see the ones that just parked on a lot. Royol oak popo were all over the cars doing burnouts.
Then we drove up to Pontiac. That is where the party was. We could smell the rubber and see the smoke from a mile away. Instigators with bull horns, people pouring water on the rear tires while vehicles were not moving, Police looking the other direction. A real free for all. Leno made an appearance again this year. Last year he took delivery of his demon 170, this year he brought his turbine car.
I will post a lot of ford truck pics in the mo forum, these old guys love their old ford trucks
My daughters lease is up next july. They want to move north and west, so this is probably a one and done deal for me.
A parting gift from the canuks.
Well, rust claimed one of the running boards yesterday. I removed it from hanging off truck this afternoon. Didn't need the grinder, but got it out anyway, only needed some back and forth impact gun action. Now to decide on a different set. Removed the rest of the running board after one end broke off yesterday. Now gotta decide on replacement
My 2015 rust free Colorado f250 will be getting krown rustproofed next week. Hopefully it'll make the truck last another 10 years. I've done other vehicles with krown and the results where very good. The facility I use in Rochester hills does a very thorough job. They spray inside everything, doors rockers, pillars, trailer hitch, running boards etc. It's a non hardening oil film, works great. I'll be shooting a video of the process.
Who has big plans for the weekend? We are going to Rockford to hang out and kayak for a couple days.
No plans for me, everything was canceled. I got covid again, I feel like crap. i had an appointment to get the f250 krown rustproofed but im going to have to cancell and reschedule. I dont want to infect anyone else.
