What does everyone have going on for then Holiday weekend? Wife and I will be up at some friends place in Rockford. Should be a good couple days of Kayaking.
First off, hello to everyone, I don't get on this site much anymore.
I'm coming into a bit of a dilemma., been rolling my '04 f150 stx 4.6 2wd for a while now, was told (and also i knew I'd need tires before winter. But I am reluctant because I'm coming up on 200k miles and know I'll waste money potentially doing this because it needs a few other things soon. I'm considering a newer to me f150, but the prices are so dang high.
I'm also considering the factor that throwing some upkeep money may be cheaper than a payment. But to what end...
Biggest thing is rust really. In good shape just keep fixing.
My thoughts are only going to concern cost to repair vs actual value vs what it's worth to you, but only you can answer that... Lol
Can always keep an eye out on marketplace for take off tires. What kind of upkeep is the truck needing?
Also good to see you on here again!

Well, Other repairs that are needed are probably brakes all around, only did rear brakes 8 yrs ago when I bought it new to me. Also there's a clunky noise that's bothering me in the front end that no one can determine what it is, and others that say they don't hear it 🙄. And the fact I'm coming up on 200k miles this year, and have begun venturing out on several hundred mile trips on holidays is concerning.
I began looking at some different vehilcles like a maverick, or used f150's , and my determination is that I'm reluctant to pay that much for a vehicle and not including insurance . Used f150s with 120k are still going for 25k. . And the payment for those , I'm not comfortable with given the mileage already on them... ugh.
so I'm considering just doing tires for now, and Maintenance.
but I don't know. Ultimately gonna need to something else eventually.. dilemmas!

Well the excursion will be up for sale tomorrow probably. See if anyone wants it for a fixer or engine replacement.
Wife ended up with a 2024 VW Tiguan R Line. Nice little car.
Couple of the girls at work have bought Tiguans, they all seem to like them.
The excursion is a tempting project, but I already ordered a hemi swap kit for Jen's wrangler to keep me busy this year.

I'm thinking if you can get two or three years out of it the incoming supply of lease turn ins will return to normal, and used prices with it. It's down quite a bit already, if you don't need a superduty
Picked this up Saturday near Cleveland. Made it back near Adrian, but the brakes were overheating. Limped it to a shop in Monclova Ohio. Hopefully it's not ridiculously expensive to fix.

Neat toy there Torr.
What's the curb weight on that thing?
Consulted a new mechanic yesterday, Confirmed need breaks all way around , and my noise is upper controls arms, at least to start. I am happy someone besides myself finally heard the noise that's been driving me crazy 🤪
