Engine cleaner
.what's a good engine cleaner that wont dull aluminum?

I like Purple Power from Walmart. It's cheap, environmentally friendly, and works pretty good. I've had success with Simple Green and Super Clean too. Foaming degreasers are good when you get all the big stuff off.

I don't think any of those are good for aluminum. Too acidic or too alkaline.

I'm almost positive Simple Green is definitely corrosive to aluminum, so is easy off oven cleaner, if you let it set for very long.

I figured Simple Green would be the best option. Also, Dawn dish soap for small stuff.
