What is your front GAWR and motor option? The gawr is on the white door jamb sticker.

I really can't tell you if there was a difference in ride with the shock change but I do know that my long bed rides very comfortably for a big truck. We have taken it on several long trips without the fifth wheel behind it. Three of those trips were over 1600 miles each. My wife is pretty particular when it comes to comfort in a vehicle and she has no complaints if I say let's take the truck instead of her Subaru Ascent. I never adjust the tire pressure.
That tells me the shocks MUST be what's making the differance as my friends F-350..heavier duty than my F-250 rides fantastic. Without the FX4 package also rides like a dream.

Your shocks could also be blown out.

never heard of their being two versions of this. But is it a spring or are we talking about the solastic shackles? I’ve considered these. Is that what there are two versions of?

They use the same shocks on the trucks for 4x4 & FX4. it's usually the unloaded tire pressure that make the difference.

I normally run 5 psi or so below the recommended and it doesn't set off the TPMS.
Mine are set to about 55 each. However, in the cold that drops. This morning when I left for church all 4 read 51psi. The only time my light has come on has been when one has dipped into the 40’s.

I had a 20 F-250 fx4 and updated to a 2024 f-250 and the ride is night and day difference, I attribute this to the 2020 tires being stiffer, as I don’t think they changed the suspension that much, could be wrong though. Both came with snow plow prep and the 2024 actually has the higher rating 10,500 springs in the rear.

I've read quite a few owners comment that their 23/24 rides better than their previous truck. Being that the 20" tire has larger diameter than the 18" makes the sidewall difference very small. It's only about. 5" difference in sidewall height. I wouldn't expect to notice a night and day ride difference from that.
I don't think the rating has changed in the rear, just the GVWR has gone up.

my 2020 was rated At 10,000 gvwr, and the 24 at 10,500 (has the wider springs and a helper spring), both trucks have the same size 18” tires, 2020 having the wrangler with Kevlar and 2024 having Bridgestone Duelers At, both trucks are XLTs.

have yet to tow with the 2024, so not sure how stiff the sidewalls of the Bridgestone’s are, hoping it tows just as good (sway).

Yep, it's possible. I know the OP is really pushing for it to be the difference between FX4 vs 4x4 shock, but I really don't believe the difference is there.

Oh, I completely misunderstood what you were saying. Looked like you were saying you attribute the ride improvement between your 2 trucks to be from difference in tire size. I see now that "20 tire" meant year of the truck and not tire size haha.

Yeah, I'm not sure what it is about the new trucks that has owners commenting on them having a noticeably better ride. In your case it sounds like you came from a similar optioned truck but with even lighter spring rate(rear) and still experienced a big improvement.
