Ok, we have a 2013 F350 with the 6.7l PSD. It won't pass smog because one of the exhaust temperature sensors isn't working. I fired up AE and checked the four sensors. Sensors 1 through 3 are all giving me voltage and temperature readings. Sensor 4 is giving me voltage readings but not temperature. I tested all four sensors and they all came back with 209 to 213 ohms resistance. The voltage readings when running on all four temp sensors are between 1.02 and 1.15 volts.
I swapped sensor three and four and tried again. Still no temperature readings on sensor location number 4. Having swapped the sensors, I know it's not the sensor because the problem did not follow the sensor. I don't see any harness damage. I see a sensor controller on the passenger frame rail, # DC3A-5K202-AC. Do the temperature sensors run through the sensor controller? So any ideas guys? Thanks, Bruce
No DTC's. Sorry, I should have stated that in my first post. Yes, there are NOX sensor modules, two of them I believe. So maybe a bad connector pin at the PCM? Thanks, Bruce
Because it keeps failing smog tests due to one of the sensors not sending data. I used my laptop with Auto Engenuity and I get temp readings from the first three sensors but not the last sensor. So, Bank 1 Sensor 4 is not reading temps. I took that sensor and swapped it into a different spot. The problem did NOT follow the sensor. The problem stayed with Bank 1 Sensor 4. So I either have a harness, electrical pin, or PCM issue as far as I can tell. This truck is on it's third engine. Both engine changes were done by a Ford dealer. Not that that makes their work full proof because it doesn't.
So, I am asking help from the forum as to what else to look for. Thank you guys very much. Bruce

If the sensor is providing the correct voltage to the PCM for the temperature it's exposed to as you indicated in your first post, you don't have a sensor input problem. More likely, you have a software problem with AE not interpreting it correctly and also displaying a temperature value. I'd suggest a different scan device or software package like Forscan, if your OBDII interface supports it.

What is the exact monitor that is failing to complete?
