What is the normal oxygen sensor reading? I am having trouble with missing under load. When I read the sensor with my autoxray it bounces all around never settling down and reads invalid about 1 out of every 3 measurements. What is the normal voltages and under what circumstances?
Easiest and cheapest way is to go to your local auto parts store that rents a code reader. You will need something that not only reads the code but you can monitor the data in real time. I bought an AutoXray unit that does both well. Another option is ebay.
You can read the o2 with a multimeter. It is normal for the voltage to bounce around. It also reads 0 volts when it hits like 0.42 volts. Unsure the exact crossover point. The o2 is a voltage generator, so once it is up to temperature, you can unplug it and still get a reading. If it is not bouncing around from .4 to like .7 as EPN said , you have a problem.
