I have to uninstall the hydra chip in my 2000 F250 for a few weeks. After removing the key and disconnecting both batteries to avoid shorting out the CPU, can I just pop the chip out of the circuit board? I cut a pretty good sized hole in the plastic cover, so I think I can cut out the duct tape i have holding the chip in, and then slide it out without having to remove the whole cpu. Is it that easy?
you Must put the Hydra in 00 before you do anything, okay?
that sets everything back to Stock.
just unplug the USB cord, and pull the chipset out of the PCM.
Please, ground your hands on the PCM case first, then try to not touch any electrical parts.
You do not need to set the Hydra to “00” before removal. The tunes are stored on the chip.
It’s as simple as you have stated. I don’t even disconnect the batteries, but do make darn sure the keys are not in the truck. (Key on condition can kill things).
Nothing wrong with disconnecting the batteries for peace on mind though.
