I took delivery of a new F250 Lariat on Wednesday, only to return it to the dealer the next morning (less than 24h!). The audio stopped working and the volume was stuck on 0. The dealer spent most of a day with it before concluding that the ACM has failed. So now I'm waiting for them to get the replacement part and hopefully that fixes it. I can only hope that it will have spent more time in my driveway than the shop by months end...
My question: are there any known or suspected issues that could cause such a failure, outside of a defect with the ACM itself? For example, some other upstream power supply or similar? I'm just wondering what may have caused the issue, and what I'm potentially in for as time goes on. And yes, I'll be keeping careful records and tracking time in the shop in case this ends up in lemon territory.
