My truck came with airbags installed by the previous owner, they have since went bad and started to leak. They were also in the way of installing my traction bars so I have since removed them. I am looking for some airbags that mount outside the frame the truck is a 1999 f250 SuperDuty. I use the truck for work I own a roofing company so I use it to pull my dump trailer. I usually tow 20 to 24k gross. I have been looking but most of them don’t specify how they mount. I was looking for recommendations also I don’t want an on board compressor, I just don’t have the need since I have a compressor with me at all times anyway
Ride Rite mounts outside the frame and I have them on 4 pickups, either with B&W gooseneck hitches (had to weld) or with "traction bars".
Buy the cheaper airbag kit without the compressor junk and just buy one of those 12V auto parts store cheapies that plug into the cigarette lighter. The bags only take 15 seconds to fill per side (if separate - as they should be) since there's no real volume.
I actually made a harness that plugs into the trailer plug and uses the trailer 12V terminal to power the compressor for two of them with the schrader valves in the rear (as license plate bolts). The other two vehicles are flatbeds with the valves behind the cab so the standard cigarette lighter cord reaches just fine.
This setup also works for factory "overload springs" too. All of mine have them.
I installed air bags in 2016 with the Air Lift Wireless One Compressor. It has exceeded my expectations and works great to this day. I have set two memory settings and am able to modify the PSI at will. #1 is set to 5 PSI and #2 is set to 55 PSI. At 55 PSI, the 5th wheel is level and travels well. Sometimes when we are hauling firewood or rock in the bed I need to bump the PSI up a bit, but that is simple and quick. You mentioned you do not want an onboard compressor. I installed a schrader valve by the license plate on the rear bumper to fill or empty the air bags if I ever needed to.
I also installed an "over the axle" bracket kit, which I removed in 2021 for an outside the frame kit that fits much better.
I had air bags on my previous truck, but also installed the onboard air system. The air pump itself can be mounted down in the frame somewhere out of the way and it's a thousand times more convenient to push that button on the dash, rather than digging out the pump and going through all that rigamarole.

I agree with this 100%. I installed the Wireless One compressor above the spare tire and under the bed. I thought about using a hand held battery powered pump in order to inflate the air bags, but went with the set it and forget it method. When the PSI is set by me and the remote, the compressor will maintain that PSI. Works quite well and I would not have it any other way after so many years of hauling the 5th wheel and firewood around.
I as well have the airlift 57298 kit with a o board compressure mounted in front of spare tire. Also teed into the lines and out a schrader valve in license plate bolts for backup incase compressor goes out. It's nice being able to add and release eair front driver seat. I just recently pit a b&w gooseneck hitcj in it and the side brackets occupy same space as the upper bag brackets so had to weld them together but still work just fine together. As well as have traction bars.

I have this exact same setup......I love it. I too have the overload springs and a B&W gooseneck......its amazing what a difference it makes with a heavy load.
