I have my carhartts at work so they help fend off the cold.. I wore them the other night and was warm.. I just don't get along well with the extra weight I have to carry around when I am wearing them..

I've never had the need for insulated coveralls, underground I wore long underwear under regular coveralls, used to get quite warm on the lower levels but not warm enough on the top levels..lol

I like the insulated coveralls better than long johns.. If I have to work inside I can remove them and not get over heated..

Was hoping to get the Bronco started on these 2 warm days AND OF COURSE it has to be difficult. Is a no-go. If I can get a hand tomorrow I'll see if I have spark other than that have no idea what is going on.

After I posted this first time I looked on the net for possible causes of my no-start. Evidently this is a common issue and USUALLY points to timing. Thought I would throw this at you all and see if you had any comments.

I do not believe the dist is 180 out as I first I marked the distributor location before removing and did not turn the engine over while doing the gasket change. When I first attempted a start I did get backfiring (using ether and then gas) through the carb. so I checked the TDC. TIming was close to 30 degrees advanced so I must have been a tooth off when I stabbed the distributor. I now have the TDC set at O and it will run at that setting just not good.

I am getting fuel I checked the sights on the the bowls. There is some dampness in the carb. I did turn the engine over using a breaker bar WITHOUT removing the spark plugs but it was a bitch. I did not check compression but I believe that is not the issue.

The engine though sounds strange (not normal) when it turns over. When assembled all was done by the book, have a hard time believing that would be an issue. Any comments?

I do appreciate that accept I did not turn the engine over after pulling the distributor. I dropped it in the same marked space (but it did not slide into the exact same place) so that would explain why out 30 degrees.
