so one morning I fired the truck up and went to take off to town. i got about 100 yards and it sputtered and died. after that, I fired it back up and it would shake if i reved it up past idle. I proceeded to try to drive it and the hesitation was awful. I would have to push the throttle down about half way before it would accelerate. Then, it would take off and jerk your head back. After it warmed up, it started running better. I noticed the engine light tripped. t was a P0402 code. I cleared it, and took it on a trip about 200 miles a few days later. Right off the bat, Same thing. Bad hesitation, and eventually tripped the code. Cleared it and proceeded with the drive. it seemed to run fine, but mileage seemed bad. I averaged 14.8 doing 78 with mostly flat ground. I got back into town and accelerated from a stop sign. All of the sudden the hesitation was back, and the light came back on. it showed the P0402 had tripped 3 times on the drive and a new code of P0315 was now there. Any ideas? Most of the searching I did tells me its MAF related to guys with aftermarket intakes or plugged air filters. I'm all stock with a fairly fresh filter.
That's exactly how mine acted, replaced MAF & all good now.
After doing some research I found out that Hitachi made most of the OEM sensors & bought it from O'Reilly. Part # MAF0111 ( that part # for a 2016)
When I R&R the old one was marked with the same #'s as the new one so I felt pretty good about using the O'Reilly part.

How long ago did you buy it and how much was it if you don't mind me asking...
It was replaced 9/22 & I'm pretty sure the price was right around $110.00
Thanks... I just replaced mine a month ago with a Motorcraft sensor from Advance and got an online discount... It was over a hundred as well but with the discount, it brought it down to $80 ish I want to say... Don't think the original sensor is bad so now I have a spare... had a P0069 code...
