Before I start, I apologize for not having all my truck info in my signature...I just got it and it apparently was frankensteined together 40 years ago. It's titled as a '78 f350 cab and chassis(dually), with a '73 cab and a 390fe from a '72. So anyways...is there ANY way to put a "regular" pickup bed on it? I understand the frame rails are different and everything, but maybe someone has some knowledge out there...
So you are saying that the frame (is)/ being more narrow due to its original dually set up that a 77-79 bed OEM bolt holes will not line up? So like when High Boy owners want to put a newer (77-79) bed on their narrow frame, they either drill new holes in the bed, to match up with the frame holes. OR weld tabs on the frame to reuse the original bed bolt holes. Do you still have the dually rear axle under it?

Yes...I think...hahaha...I'm seriously at the very beginning of this project. I'm looking for someone that might know anything about possibly putting a bed on one. It currently has a 9ft flatbed, and yes it has the dually axle still under it. What's this about tabs?
So it has the dually rear end and you want to put a regular truck bed on and and then find the (pretty much impossible to find), dually fenders to go on the bed? If you do not want to drill more/different holes in the bed, just weld some tabs/angle iron/brackets to reuse the original holes in the new bed.

I used to haul mail on dent side cab & chassis which had a box with rollup rear doors, of course those just sat on carefully cut timber blocking and big rectangle U-bolts wrapped the truck frame, the timber, and the box's underfloor frame. I knew the cab & chassis DRW/axle set was wider overall than a regular PU SRW/axle set, but it doesn't seam that it was wide as a "dualy" PU rear axle in my memory. Dualy PU rears are some wider than a cab & chassis rear, so that a regular bed's inner bed sides will clear and still provide 48"-50" between the tubs. Before setting a bed on the C&C frame, I think you may either need to cut the bed floor for deeper tubs, or widen the rear axle.
I won't swear to all that, but I'm fairly certain of it. Measure between the inside to inside of your DRW's tires for yourself.
