I've got a 77' 1ton dully 2wd with a bad 360 engine and a 4 speed manual behind it. I want to replace the 360 with a 390 with a c-6 auto, out of a 73' f-100 4wd.
I believe after pulling out the 390 away from the c-6, i believe it will bolt right up to the 77's 4 speed.
What will I need to get besides warn parts?

First ID the 390 by measuring the stroke to be ensure all the work is not for not. Pull the 360 out of the one ton leaving the C-6 there. Replace the front seal for good measure on the C-6 in the F350 at the very least. If your replacing the fluid make sure and empty the torque converter of it's fluid before you slip it in. BTW, great choice on the 390.
A couple of good pics of the engine would help as well. I thought the FE motors ended at 76 as well. It could have been swapped out. As far as the c6 transmission goes, I think you will have to swap out the tail cone and possibly some drive shaft work. If its out of a F100 4x4, the trans will be bolted to the transfer case. Also, if switching to an automatic, you will need the steering column out of an auto truck. Does your F350 have power steering? There might be differences from an auto steering column compared to an auto with power steering. I have never done a swap like this but I have seen people mention lots of parts. I would search that out specifically.
