Is there a switch that can be retrofitted to allow parking lights to come on with headlights? I know I can jump it but my headlight switch is shot anyway. So I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. In a quick search all I see is factory operating switches. Thanks.
I thought it was the same for the older Fords, but many of the switches during that time had the ability to run the lights at the same time. It wasn’t a switch that changed, but the location of certain wires in the main connector for the switch.
In the case of the mid 60s GM stuff, it was simply moving one wire from one cavity to the other, so that when it was reconnected to the switch, the parking lights worked at the same time.
I thought we did that same thing to our 66 and 67 Broncos, but I can’t say I’ve ever actually done it on a full-size pick up.
Hopefully somebody knows.
I'm not able to add a sketch but I might have found it for you. Try going to FORDification.com - The 1967-1972 Ford Pickup Resource and find the Discussion Forum labeled Electrical and Wiring, then lookup the thread labeled 1967 F100 Running Lights. In that thread there is a sketch that shows to add a jumper between the Tail lights (Brown wire) to Parking Lights (Blk/Yellow) to the back of the headlight switch wiring harness.
