Injector cup removal/installation tools
Injector cup removal/installation tools
Is there any meaningful difference in the injector cup tool set from Swamp Diesel vs Rosewood Diesel or RiffRaff? The Swamp Diesel set is $100. Rosewood is $250. RiffRaff I can rent for $75, but I might as well pay $100 and own the set.
From what I have read they are not all the same , The only experience I have is with the riff Raff tool and it works incredibly well. The only other one I would consider is the rosewood tool but I'm not sure if it works just as good as the riff Raff tool. From what I understand the cheap tools you have to beat the cups in and it is a PITA. Curious what others have to say as well
I own both Rosewood and Riffraff Diesel tools, and I can tell you I only use the Riffraff tool now due to the ease of installation with it. Unless you plan on doing a lot of cup jobs I would just rent it and use the easier one as well as save a couple bucks.
I bought the tool from Riffraff and to be honest, I do use it as a driver where accessible and seat the cups with a mallet. It's faster and I get good feedback when the cup hits bottom.
Where it really shines and earns its keep is doing cups in the back of the engine where there isn't enough room. In my opinion, this makes it the most versatile of the tools for this task.

I got my rosewood tool before the riffRaff one was even a thing. I haven't seen the swamps version but i would do rosewood or riffraff. No experience with the riffraff tool but seen videos
I have installed with engine in and out. obviously out of truck is easiest but not hard to do in the truck either.
as mentioned, if you don't plan to do another set, just rent the tool. I knew I would use it on occasion so it was worth it, plus renting wasn't an option when I needed it and $250(or whatever it was when purchased) was well worth it to me
