Ok guys. Over the last month on my gas 2018 F250 I have a very annoying "rattle" under a light load. I thought one of the heat shields had come loose or a clamp had broken but I have been all under the truck and they are all fine. It only does it under a light load going uphill with very light pedal pressure and then will quit when giving it more throttle. I can't find anything under the truck that is loose and no repairs have been done for a while. Possible tranny or torque converter issue? Truck does have 165,000 freeway miles on it but runs flawlessly.
I’ve got a 2018 F250 gas, Super cab, long bed, 136k miles that does exactly the same thing. I would call it a vibration/rattle. No clue what’s causing it. I did pull off a bunch of heat shielding material (fiber pad with aluminized coating on one side) that had come loose and was hanging down around the muffler - can’t remember for sure, but I may have noticed the noise sometime after that…… I’m just about to take the truck in to a local mechanic and see if they can find anything.
I had this on my '19 F250 gasser. I bought the truck new and brought it in with less than 3000 miles because of this issue. The Ford tech told me, "The noise is coming from the rear pinion bearing and it's a known vibration. There is no fix for it and not to worry about it too much." How truthful this explanation is, I don't know. But you don't hear about the rear axle failing on these trucks. After a while, I didn't even notice it anymore.
While chasing a 65mph rumblestrip noise i looked for anything loose. I found loose and some missing heat shield material including clamps just resting on the exhaust.
Looking like my fix still is driveshaft balance.....
I have this on my 2021 and i believe its the muffler. I get a buzzy rattle under load at low rpms, but no other time. If i hit the muffler with a mallet i can replicate the sound. Its like a baffle inside the muffler has detached or come loose. Its not horrible but looking forward to replacing it. I think the harmonics of the engine and drivetrain come together at a certain RPM and it buzzes.

Just delete it. If you remove just the muffler, it will change the tone very little. Some say that it will improve power and mileage. I didn't notice much of anything but a change in tone. The muffler shop charged me less that $100 and they made it capable of replacing the new pipe section with the muffler again if I wanted to.
