16 KR airbag light
I have a Srs light on, code B0090 - left frontal restraints sensor, (:11) circuit short to ground. DTC present at time of request. No other airbag codes. Is it possible the sensor in the lap restraint could be bad or set off from a prior accident? I checked all connections to RCM and everything looks normal and is connected. Appears to have been in a prior accident. Need to have srs light off to pass inspection to get it on the road. Considered taking it in to dealership or mechanic however they’re 3 weeks to a month out.
Would resetting the RCM be a good first step?

If it's been in a accident and someone was sitting in the left seat the seatbelt restraining device inside the retractor may have fired the tighten the belt causing the code. The seatbelt restraint has to be replaced.
