DO NOT reset the airbag light and call it a day. The light is illuminated because the truck has a problem with its supplemental restraint system (SRS). When you start the truck the light should blink at a particular 'pattern', usually two sets of 'blinks' that will give you a two-digit code. You can look up the code or report back here with the info.
It is not worth risking your life, or the life of loved one, by ignoring the problem by clearing the code and God forbid you get in an accident. The light doesn't just come on due to a bump. When my light came on at the 150,000-ish mile mark it was due to a failed clock spring.
Get the code, diagnose the problem and repair as needed. Plenty of members will help you. Gotta keep the truck occupants safe!

My airbag light was on when I bought the truck. Thanks for the flashing code tip. I've noticed the flashes, but figured counting flashes went the way of the Dodo, when OBDII came out.
I did notice the other day, a small sensor under the center of the bumper had the wires torn off. Two wires, and the sensor looks like an airbag sensor I think. Square black plastic with about a .4" diameter cylinder on it.
And yeah without an airbag in my mach1, I'd have had a face full of steering wheel when i t-boned a grand marquis at 65mph when it was making an illegal u-turn
