E40D deep pan question

E40D deep pan question
I have a 1996 E-150 4.9L 6cly engine with a E40D transmission. The transmission blew up, I have to move in 2 weeks so I bought a used one from the local pick&pull that came out of a E-350 club wagon with a 5.8L engine.
All the pans at the pick&pull get a hole drilled in them and the one from the old trans was all beat up so I decided to buy a new one. I bought a deep pan because it was the closest and could get to me the sooner. The deep pan was $10 more but it has a drain.
I ordered the correct filter but Im wondering if the dip stick makes a difference the original pan is a regular pan not a deep pan.Thanks
