4.2 issue
Good morning,
I am having some issues with my 1998 4.2 automatic truck. Just installed a reman trans, radiator, and trans cooler maybe 5k ago. Well, trucks been doing great 145K miles. Well, over the weekend it started having a miss fire under load. Then everyday got worse but seems to clear up once truck is warmed up. Doesn't throw any codes. Changed the plugs. Didn't help so I ordered coil pack and wires. Supposed to be here tomorrow. On my way to work this morning it missed then acted like it didn't want to shift into 3rd and then shifted hard. It did that a few times and then the OD switch light flashed twice and went off. I know that means trans issue but could a possible bad coil pack and harsh misfire cause the trans to maybe "freak out" and flash the OD light? before this morning it hasn't done anything like that but it missed a lot harder this morning.
