Trans fault?

Trans fault?
Hi Guys... Had something weird happen this morning.
I loaded some furniture to take to Goodwill,and just after pulling of the driveway I heard a "ding"....the message center said Transmission fault,and the o/d light was on(meaning the od/was off i guess).
I stopped the truck,put it in park and shut it off. Cranked it back up,and drove it to make my drop-off.
Light never came on again.
Any ideas as to what could have caused this? The truck seemed to drive fine.
