I have a f250 superduty 6.2L. I recently had the battery light come on and the next morning on my way in to work all of the lights and radio went out. I checked the alternator readings and it was overcharging at 16.5-17.5. I changed out the alternator and now charging at 14.8 both at the alternator and the battery but the battery light keeps on. I scanned it and p0625 code comes up. I've cleared the codes but they keep coming back on. Been looking for broken wires and cleaning connections but can't seem to find the problem. Any help would be great
did you use an oem or bosch alt? sometimes autoparts store brands will do that. also are you absolutely sure the connector is fully seated, I think that can cause it too. I did that once, swore I had it fully seated but it actually wasn't.
Agree with Redford, if you've been overcharging your battery it's POSSIBLE that it is damaged. It is ALSO possible that the battery was going bad and forcing the overcharge condition to the point where it blew the regulator out on your original alternator. It's a good idea to change batteries every 4-5 years, give or take.
That said, Super Duties tend to not like anything that doesn't have the Ford logo on it. It may run okay with aftermarket parts, but quite often non-OEM electrical components give these trucks heartburn.
My battery is about 3 years old and I did test it and it reads good. The napa alternator was charging it at about 14.0-15 volts so I’m hoping that’s why the light is still on. I ordered a oem one and will install it tomorrow and see what happens

LET US KNOW please!!
When the batt light came on on our '08 F150 I ordered some parts and rebuilt it myself. It's been working fine.....
On my SuperDuty I carry a spare used OEM in the truck box. They can be quite affordable on ebay, but certainly with any used part there's a gamble-- although we know from results new parts are a gamble here, too
