Charging light

The battery on my 99 F250 SD died last weekend. I left the Sirius receiver on for 5 days. Charged the battery and haven't had any problems until tonight. (It's been driven at least 45 miles every day since). While driving, the Charging Light blinked and went off. Later, when I started it again, the light came on and stays on.

Battery load tester shows that the battery is weak. So, I plan on replacing the battery. My question is, is there an easy way to determine if the alternator is ok?

Replace the battery. If you have anywhere near 80k get a new alt or put new brushes in it, easy.

The battery light has nothing to do with the battery, either you have an alternator on the way out or a bad connection in the regulator wiring. Have someone watch the light with the truck running and wiggle all the wiring to the alternator including the regulator plug. If nothing is found it probably is the alternator.
