I tried out playing music from my flash drive, worked great. I took a drive into the mountains yesterday and decided to play some noise. It worked and sounded good, BUT I could not choose a different folder (album) while moving. I can change radio stations. WTF!
Rant: This truck has some nice aspects and some I truly hate. I so miss the no nonsense of my OBS.
Question: Is it possible to enable the search function while moving? I don't remember seeing that using Forscan.
The voice commands are not as robust as the touch screen entries, but you can specify artist, album (I think) song title and genre. This time of year I will voice command "play Christmas" and the system will paly all my Christmas music for me. The play in alphabetical order by title unless you push the randomizer button.
You just have to put some thought into using the voice commands. A little learning curve.
My entire CD library plus a bunch of downloaded stuff is on my USB with room for so much more.
ku40j, thanks. I hear you and needed to give it some thought and experimentation. Talking to and requesting what I want from the truck goes against my grain. I'm a turntable and tube amp guy. With some regularity, what I ask for and what I get are two completely different things. And it's not due too slurred speech.
I have a digital library as well. It's all about independence. I hoping one day I can plug in my 4tb drive.
