no can do it died today i was sitting at a light and it stalled i tryed restarting it but all it did was caugh then after 30min it wouldent even do that i had to have towed home today w/ a dead battery from the hazzards changed the fuel filter at the light but that wasn't the problem it had spark because it would caugh but after it stopped caughing i started to wonder did my computer give up on me or did the spark pluges foul up right now i don't have a clue intil i get my computer tester back

This is sounding like it is a fuel issue. Was it smoking any when it died? (black) Pull the air cleaner and make sure it is pumping gas, should see it squirt. If it does than hold the pedal on the floor and try and start it.

no smoke when it stalled and when i changed the fuel filter gas squarted out of the line

How about the gas squirting IN the carb? I'm thinking that you may have a stuck float. Will it start if you hold the gas on the floor?

just tried that pouring gas in to the carb the truck will run but the carb is not letting the gas flow into the manafold we tryed the float that didn't work i think that carb is beyond help my uncle thinks the diafram or the float but we beat the carb within an inch of its life that didn't help he say to replace the entire thing with a brand new carb not a reman carb

I don't know if you can find a new carb for that but, I agree that the carb is the problem. Good luck.

well took it to ford today and found out the lines are bad and both fuel tanks have to be replaced new lines run fuel pump and carb about $800.00 in repairs im not happy

Why does it need all that? I thought it was getting fuel up to the carb.

it is getting fuel to the carb but it has a lot of rust in it and gunk from the first tank that i wanted to get replaced in the first place was seeping in to the line (sugar, rust, varnish, water)and the rear is just rusting out

i know now why it previous owner sold it to my mother the replacment of the fuel system like i said it was wreck by neglect and abuse

I had the same problem on mine last winter, it's an 84 5.0L and it ended up being the fuel filter, the symptoms were sluggishness, bogged going up hills, and would only idle after 10minutes of driving at 55mph.
