I think you are right. Reflectors do seem to be a military thing, at least for vehicles from our era. Did the Navy truck you found in the junkyard have tailgate reflectors? If it did, that would further confirm the theory about reflectors and military vehicles. Thanks.

I was on the search for 4 red and 4 amber finally found and bought the same ones from Grangers $2 each. Then with my bad luck I go to local hardward store for some paint And came upon those reflectors exact how many do you want at $1.99. No shipping no waiting right here local under my nose..........

Thanks. I've done a little looking at internet pictures of military trucks too, and that's why I think military trucks, at least during the years I was interested in, had reflectors. I mentioned that mine were modern cheap-o's, but they look okay. Good luck with your truck! It seems like you got some good advice on finding the fender mounted turn signals you are looking for.
