Glow plugs - error codes
Didn’t installed a new harness bc I thought the one on the truck was still in good shape
Today I tried turning on the truck in Atlanta weather and it struggled to turn on. Took me about 3 tries to turn on. Mind you last time I drove it was on Sunday morning.
Do these codes mean the glow plugs I got are bad or is the valve cover harness bad?

You could possibly have an issue with the UVCH's and/ or glow plug relay. there are steps to check those with a multimeter but I do not have them memorized.
being one whole side is showing bad and a single on the other side... I would check the relay and the UVCH's.
You can test the glow plugs with only removing the connector to the UVCH.
did you clear the codes after doing the GP's?

I do have an excursion so I have the control module. Is there a way to test that before I go digging under the valve cover?
I'm not saying you need to open the valve covers again. you can test the glow plugs/ wiring by just unplugging the connector to the valve cover gasket and using a multimeter.
You would be ohming out the glow plugs and verifying that the connection is good. If you can't get a reading, then it would indicate an issue with the UVCH or possibly the connection to the glowplug didn't get fully seated.
I'll have to see if i can find the instructions or video to show you what i'm talking about
Do you have a check engine light or P0683 code?
I should also note that it's not typical there are issues with an entire bank, make sure the connectors are fully seated on your glowplug control module. If you get continuity to your glowplugs, then most likely it's the GPCM or wiring.
first one if you have a test light; I've never used this method but will let you know that your UVCH wiring is good to the glowplugs
next video shows my method using ohm meter. do not pay attention to the connector he has. Process would be the same as using test light.
I think you could have a bad GPCM. here is a painful to watch video
My gpcm was bad, but i had a code for it. I had an activation signal from the pcm, and 12v, so nothing left but a bad gpcm.
Look for the pin out. Test from there and youll find your issues.
