Sorry, a little confused here.
I'm not understanding if you can't get heat in the cab from the heater core, or if the engine temps are too low. In any case I guess it's heat in the cab, the heater control valve hasn't been mentioned yet, has that been checked?

I get heat when the engine is under a load (pulling a trailer). The temp gauge works as it moves around depending on what the temp is. Just when the truck is unloaded and cruising the temp gauge is on cold because there is to much airflow. So I am headed to IL around 3am tomorrow and I added the cardboard today to make sure I have heat for a few hours before the sun comes up. I am one of those people who does not mind it cold. I can sit and drive with the truck inside temp in the 40s just fine. My huskie pup loves it too.
