Cabin Filter

First off. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.....
Since this is something new to me. I am asking more on a question level. Do you and how often do you change this? I figure since I don't know if or when it was changed, I would go ahead and do it. It's pretty cheap and why not? Dealer didn't say anything about having it but more I stumbled on it looking at a few things on you tube. Would like to hear about yours. Thanks

About every 30k miles or so. I’ve been meaning to pick one up for mine since I’ve been getting a slight whiff of a weird odor in the truck lately. It’s easy to change.

I'd also agree, 30k. However, it really depends on your environment. If you drive down a gravel road, or heavy city traffic a lot, probably more. I changed mine at 20k, it was still pretty clean. Taking the trim piece off on the Lariat, I thought it was going to break, and the slow glove box shock, pay attention.

I live on a dirt road and agree the changed cycles will be shorter than paved. I just wasn't sure mileage wise. Dust storm city when dry. Thanks guys

Our driveway/road is almost a mile long, and parts of it are just plain gravel. We check ours about once a year, and it seems like we change it about every other year (although I'd have to go through the records to verify that).

About every second oil change is probably a decent cycle for most people. Buy a few online, it's easy to do yourself.

I change mine every 30,000 miles, and I just changed it a week ago. I don’t like how Ford made it such a pain in the *** to get to the filter.

Depends on the dust conditions and time driven more than milage alone. I change mine every 3 years but I drive mainly on paved roads. The aftermarket products work well. I get mine on Amazon.

Does depend on conditions. I have nothing out of the ordinary conditions wise-and I don't know who designed access to the air filter, It's really a PITA to get to.

So for me once a year.....

Do we drive the same trucks? All those plastic clips-that eventually will break. NOT EASY....IMHO.

^^^THESE^^^

Removing the Lariat trim is a PITA! I'd be interested to know if it's easier on an XLT, XL, etc. You know that faux wood trim has to be like $500 from

Throw that fake wood piece out and get the flexible plasti-rubber XLT piece.
