A lot of people don’t like the look of the wheels sticking halfway out the fenders. For some it’s a ridiculous look. I personally don’t mind it. I actually have 20x10 -18 on my truck now (though I’m actively searching for a 18x9 0 offset wheels as I think it would look nicer with about half the amount of tire poke)
In regards to the OP….he obviously doesn’t like the look and/or function of tires sticking out and wants to keep any flung debris in the wheel wells…hence why he’s saying the most he wants to deal with is a sliver of sidewall poking out (but he doesn’t want any tread protruding)
he’s looking for more like a 9” wide wheel with a +18 offset here
Yes, we have lots of gravel roads and bad road conditions in the winter. not only am I not fond of the look outside the well but I don't want to be tossing rocks at myself or other people on the road.
techrep's pictures show more outside that I expected, but I have the moldings and my tires will be 1 1/2" narrower so it should be fine.
