PCM interchange info
Suspecting a fried pcm on my 97 f350. From what I’ve read any DPC-203 will be able to go in without programmming? Just want to get this right before I buy something totally different. Or is that irrelevant? I don’t trust any mechanic or shop and want to do everything I possibly can before actually taking it in. Can someone help me figure out if there are multiple pcms that can just be plugged in? Also I have a quadzilla arachnid 8 position tune on it that may be causing issues I just need some help on knowing what to do please 🙏

Anything that says "DPC-203" will plug right in and work just fine.
Actually, if you have a chip for a manual (seems you do) you can get a DPC-202 (auto) and it'll function fine as well. Even without a chip it will run and drive but you'll get all sorts of transmission codes and rough start-ups (quickly comes to its senses once moving).
