What is the place you all recommend for psom repair? Not my good 97, but my "well used" one needs it. Once in a while it won't shift, or sometimes the speedometer doesn't move either. Smack the dash and it works fine. Pretty sure that means it's time for a rebuild.
I used clusterfix.net, few years ago. Had to send my old one back for a core refund. It solved my shifting problems when nothing else would. They are located in Washington State.

Didn't they just fix yours so the mileage was correct? Just asking. Thanks guys.
As best I remember, I was in contact with them and indicated my mileage to be programmed in to a rebuilt PSOM.. They sent me a rebuilt unit with correct mileage. After swap out and install of new one, I sent my old one back for a core refund.
That way I wasn’t driving without instruments while mine was repaired.
It worked out for me, and unit still works fine. Mileage on odometer is still accurate.

Thanks again. If I go with an outside repair I'll be in contact with them. I do have other vehicles too, I could be down for a bit. But, if i can do it myself cheap i may try that.
I decided to go with this place. Faster service with the same price, more or less. Very happy. The truck shifts so much better. I just got it done and only drove a little bit but can tell the difference.
