I have an intermittent severe vibration/shaking of the truck. It's dependent of engine speed and does it no matter the gear or neutral (zf5). Harmonic balancer looks good aswell as motor mounts. Original dual mass flywheel has 1" and some play for counter rotation. No loss of power when it happens either. Any ideas?
Your dual mass fly wheel is shot. If you can move the fly wheel more than 5/8 of an inch, it is time to replace it. There is a center bearing in the assembly that can go bad and will throw the fly wheel out of balance, and cause severe vibration. The single mass fly wheel kits are cheaper than a new dual mass fly wheel, and are better in my opinion.
