White smoke only when warm

So I just bought a 90 f250 with a na 7.3 it runs great until it's warmed up and then it starts dumping white smoke and is low on power. Unfortunately the privious owner was running wmo threw it and I'm worried it's the cause of the problems. He claimed he filtered it threw a couple rags but I don't think that's enough. He said one day he was driving it and it got a to the a in normal on the temp guage and that's when it started acting funny. He said he drove it for a couple weeks and it kept getting worse so he parked it. There's no coolent in the oil. If you plug it in it's not hard starting(oct in Montana so it's around 15°) I haven't tried it when it was warmer out but the smoke only starts when it's warmed up. I know head gaskets are pretty rare on these and it didn't get that hot so any ideas?

it could be bad injectors. if it was burning oil it would do it all the time.

Yeah I had a 94 that burned it all the time but it also went threw an insane amount of oil to make that much smoke. This one isn't using any oil it's just weird to me that it only does it once warmed up. Injectors are cheap on these so might as well throw in a set and see what happens.

WMO contains A LOT of metals and other contaminants that will destroy injector parts causing them to leak once hot.
especially when the WMO is not run through a centrifuge to clean it.

Ah that makes a lot of sense thank you for explaining that to me! I will get those ordered and be back for an update once they are installed. Thank you

buy from a reputable company like Justin at R&D,
https://idiperformance.com/shop/inje...ilt-injectors/
or Mel at moose.
https://moosediesel.com/collections/...of-8-w-kit-440
i do not trust evilbay, and the once known "good" like pensicola diesel now have rather dismal reputations.

Tom,

if you ran it through a centrifuge would it be ok say mixed 50/50 with diesel? the reason i ask is that I purchased a centrifuge to clean WMO for use in an oil burning furnace and expect to have more than i need, how much extra is the question, but the siren song of even a 50/50 mix of WMO and diesel is alluring.

any more info or know of any threads with more info? i did a search for WMO and not much came up, this was one of the threads.

I've never run WMO but I have come across threads where people were running 85% WMO and 15% RUG(Reguar Unleaded Gas). Low cost fuel is appealing but when I think about what a new, quality IP and set of injectors cost the appeal begins to wane. I even came across a guy who had access to a ton of used ATF and centrifuged it and ran it for many miles.

Like I said above my primary use is for fuel for my house boiler, all of the places I can get WMO form have one requirement and that is if I take any I take all, so I can pick and choose amongst smaller shops till i get what I need but am guaranteed that I will have some excess, how much I don't know yet but I would probably not have enough to even run 30% WMO probably more like 10-15% WMO and the balance regular diesel but would like to look into this closer, do you have any links?
