White smoke
Hello everyone, I have an 03 F-250 6.0L that has been blowing a fair amount of white smoke on cold start up. The smoke is a puff and then a small amount during idle while warming up. Once driving and warmed up, no smoke of any color. It's a little better if I cycle the GP's for a little longer (45sec to a minute) Also better if I plug her in at night. Lows here have been in the high 20's to low 30's. Truck doesn't seem to have any probs starting at that temp (even unplugged), just the smoke. No surging idle, loping. Could it be the GPCM or maybe an injector.
P.S. still running Rotella 15-40 (cold in the morning, but still gets up to 70-75 during the day.)

That sounds like pretty normal stuff to me. I live in central WI and had the truck parked outside last night. It hit -10 if you wanna talk about white smoke on startup. If you were getting white smoke after warm I'd be concerned a little more but from your description I think your fine

it was about 25 here last night.. started it up this morning... puff of white smoke right at start up.. then a lil white smoke at idle until it got warm after driving it for 2 m ins.. mine is a lil ruff when i first start it cold.. not plugging in.. mines 03..

yea i let mine warm up till the engine is at about 100 to 110 º then ill drive it, but it smokes while its warming up and noticed it smokes at stop lights but once it hits about over 150º it goes away . im in washington and it gets 30 to 40º so im sure its normal. in cali my truck never smoked once. =( i dont think my truck likes washington.
