I was replacing my feed/return hard lines on the block due to some issues I had in the past where I had to cut the end off and use a compression fitting when the fuel pressure regulator threads broke off in the fitting. Well I noticed a leak as well down at the quick connect at the bottom of the block where it goes from soft hose to hard hose. So I already had a new set of hard lines to put on so I started taking the old ones off and while pulling on the return hose trying to get the quick connect to release, the end of the hose just about tore off. This is the soft hose that connects to the hard lines on the block to feed the fuel bowl. I can't seem to find them very well online unless I want them from Ford for almost $300, and I believe I could do just like what I did with the fuel pump, when I did the hutch and harpoon mod by using the fuel braided hose with injection hose clamps on either side. If I remove that soft hose from both sides it will leave the metal Barb on either side and I could connect it with rubber hose That's rated for diesel fuel. Other than that, all I can do is buy the hoses. Does anybody know which exact hose it is that I need? It is the larger of the two hoses so that would be the return I believe.
Whoa, look at all that money you save! Yeah, they are ridiculously priced.
I'm definitely going to save money on this one actually, I'm putting regular fuel hose with injection clamps back on. I'm not going to pay that much for some 2-foot rubber hoses. The hose feeding my fuel pump with the injection clamps and inline filter has been doing fine so, that's exactly what I'm going to do with this hose and I will go ahead and replace the other one that is right next to it because it is the same age. Might as well!
when we put the Fuel Sump on my Excursion,
I just went to the auto parts store and bought high pressure fuel line, and Injector hose clamps.
job 1 done.
we cut the fuel lines in front of the fuel pump, and ran the new hose from the sump to within a few inches of the fuel pump.... didn't like the look of the hard fuel lines anyway
Keep in mine the hose feeding your pump is not under pressure it's suction. The line your replacing will be under pressure one of them will anyway. So make sure you get good hose rated for diesel and good clamps. I'd probably double up the clamps also.

yes,
but the parts store only had "high pressure" hose in stock, and it was fuel rated
