I have a 97 E250 and my speedo cluster took a pill. I replaced it with a junkyard 97 replacement but now the speedo and the odometer don't function. Gauges all seem to work on the replacement speedo. Any thoughts?
Been there, done that with these things----they're VERY year specific!
Do you have full function of the transmission, does it shift normally?
I might have one I could send you pretty much free, pay shipping and its yours---I'd have to dig it out of my warehouse of never used parts first parts though.
Transmission did seem to shift funky. I pulled it and found that the case connector was leaking and figured that was the cause. Rebuilding it in the next few days. Currently running on a 99 transmission. The speedo would be awesome! Just let me know how much. Thanks!
Also, is there a way to trick the speedo into working? Like on the old GM cars with the chip in the key, when the security system nose dived you could use some resistors to trick it into working again.
Hello I have a 1996 E250 the other day the speedo odometer stopped working. The ABS light is flashing and the OD off button is also flashing. So far I have checked fuses in cab and under hood. Replaced the VSS and still nothing. Im not sure if it was the cause but the white wire for the trailer hook ups got busted. Just noticed it the same day that every thing stopped working. Before I switch out the odometer with one from the junk yard. I would like to know if any one knows the exact fuses that run the speedo/odo? I think I heard that #8 and 18 in the cab are for it. Either way I have checked EVERY fuse. Please help I need the van this weekend.
