Yes, the ones with U bolts at the rear flange take the middle size and the HD 3/4 tons and up take the biggest one
The ones that have bolt up flanges have the smaller caps
I would look for OEM Ford or Spicer u joints
The Spicer 5-213X should be the one you need
The newer ones have no grease zerk and they say they are more HD
Not sure I believe that
Note
The zerk needs to be on compression for ultimate strength of the star (drag racing)
If the zerk hole is getting pulled open, the star breaks easier under load
i need u joints for the front driveline on an 88 f150 4x4 tried looking it up on rock auto and got five different sizes. i probably should change them all while I am in there. but what size do I get.
One of my things on my list is to replace all the u-joints in my 2WD F250. I checked with my supplier and found there are several different versions and sizes. I have accepted the fact that I must remove them all, measure them all, order them, then install them. Sounds like this 2 hours job could take me 2 weeks of getting the wrong parts.
