So I did my first axle ujoint on the swamper side on the weekend. It was horrible could not get the caps out, finally got it after lots of beating and cutting the ujoint. Now I put it all back together and when I spin the front drive shaft, the drives slide ujoint spins nicely and the swampers side, the side I did doesn't want to turn or is very difficult to turn. When I go and turn it I can barely turn it by hand. What did I screw up? And is it safe to drive in 2wd for now as it's my work truck.
Something like what? What are the possibilities? I can spin it by hand, but just barely. Is there anything you can mess up when putting it into the diff? is it a seal or something that's bound and tight?
The ujoint itself, it's all back together, so like the whole axle. Before, if I spun the front driveshaft, they would both spin freely if the hubs weren't locked. Now, with hubs unlocked when I spin the driveshaft, that axle doesn't wanna spin. If I go over and spin the ujoint/axle by hand, I can barely spin it.
