somewhat continuous fuel pump running

86 EFI, 302. replaced a capacitor in the ECM. fuel pump was shutting off after a few seconds. now, it takes a while longer like 30 seconds or more to stop running. Could that be a bad or weak fuel pump in the tank? Single tank truck. or is the Ecm just going bad? Thank for the help.

When dose it run & shut down?
When you turn the key to ON but not to start?
Or when you turn the truck off?

Did you check ALL THE CAPS as there is more than 1

The fuel pump timer is built into the ECM. Something is still wrong with the computer.

Only one capacitor showed a visual defect. So I only changed that one. I will replace the other two now. thanks

It only starts after the fuel pump stops running. Once it starts it runs great and doesn't shut off.

Didn't you have a thread a short time ago about ? For those of that may need help with this type of issue, could you please update thread, I think you may have had pictures in that thread, forgive me if I'm wrong. IMO it's better to keep related problems together in your thread. Thanks
