And it looks fantastic! I stressed to the shop that I wanted an OEM fit. The shop said that the padding provided by ACC was falling apart and even though glued, the carpet still moved causing my fitment problems. Regardless of the reason, it’s done, it’s black, and it looks great! The black carpet is a beautiful contrast to the tan interior. I also have a new molded black Dashmat. No glue, no velcro, or attachment. It sits on the contours of the dash beautifully!
I even ordered some new Weathertek knockoffs called Smartliner from Amazon. The were ~$100 compared to the Weathertek at $155. The only difference is the pattern of the inner ridges is different but the shape and fit are identical.
I installed ACC carpets in my 05 ex. I got the premium carpet (Essex I think) which is a thicker carpet than the standard. I also put in Noico sound deadening material which is similar to Kilmat and a layer of jute underlayment. I got the thicker carpet and the jute to help even more with sound deadening. As you probably know there is no more oem carpets to be found. The Acc carpet is a quality replacement however, when they say it is molded to fit the vehicle they are technically correct but it is still very bulky and is in no way a tight fit over the mounds and in the corners, particularly the passenger foot well. I did a ton of research on how to professionally install replacement carpet and finally found the solution. Steam. I bought a professional clothes steamer Jiffy Steamer Found it used on craigslist I think. Had to steam the carpet to the point of making the backing pliable then push it into place and hold it. It will then take the proper shape. It's a slow process but the results are far better than just laying the carpet in and waiting a day for it to lay down on its own. I think theres a few videos of the process on their website and on youtube.
Fortunately carpet fitment is behind me. lol
I just purchased a replacement OEM air filter box, a new radiator air deflector, and under hood front edge seal. Ford is charging for them by the ounce $$$
Next project is having the roof sprayed with color match LineX.
