So my ABS light came on today on my 04 F250.Started looking and found what I think is a wire that goes to my right front wheel melted on the exhaust manifold. We changed the manifold and must have forgot to tie the wire back up. Is that something that can be cut and spliced or do I need to buy a new one? Not sure what it would be called. Is it ok yo drive the truck? Thank you
Yes it's okay to drive the truck, just be aware that your ABS likely won't work and you may not have cruise, I don't recall how integrated those systems were.
You should be able to splice it, just make sure you don't change the overall length much, and definitely use either heat shrink or electrical tape to seal your connections. I think at that point it's part of the truck's wiring harness (I could be mistaken), and I don't know if there's a connection you could unplug to replace that run, so to 'replace' it you'd probably be looking at an entirely new harness which will be $$$ because you basically have to disassemble most of the truck to replace it.
