A Motorcraft brand part was purchased so how is that not OEM? .
Cheap Chinese eBay parts branded as motor craft but are a scam, not OEM., not bought from ford.
there are sites that show how the Knock off motor craft parts are packaged , and may look like motor craft, they are not, and they don’t function like motor craft either.
regardless, electronics fail, diagnostics is a pain, new parts may be faulty, buyer beware.
Good write-up. I have started using OEM parts more and more because of the same failures happening to me several times but I also want to say that just because it's OEM doesn't make it better. TFI modules are something I go through regularly and even with a Motor craft I don't know that I trust it. Seems like every TFI I put in the truck will run slightly different every time. I've had some modules make the truck run great but give it a slight miss, some that the truck feels gutless and falls flat on its face at lower rpms, and others that work perfectly fine but would get random stalling. So far my last motorcraft has lasted 3 months but it doesn't say motorcraft and looks exactly like the other ones I've got in the past so that makes me fishy as to if they're really the real deal or just a knockoff that's claimed to be OEM.
