Hello Members,
This my first time on this forum but I have been on the 57 - 60 forum looking for information regarding my 58 Panel truck.
I have a 2016 F150 4 door, 4x4, 5.0L, 6 speed auto tranny truck.
Last weekend I lost 12 to 13 gallons of gas via Midnight Jerks.
I am looking for a way to lock the fuel opening with the No Cap configuration. Ford does not have a work-around for it.
Has anyone for something that works. A friend suggested using a quarter turn lock like the ones the lock an outside RV compartment. That sounds like someting that might work but it would be locked into the plastic in the compatment.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. TIA
Disappointing for sure. They do sell locking gas caps, Google / Amazon has options. My take, I'd rather they siphon, than poke hole in plastic tank, fill their container, and leave with balance of tank on the ground. Hopefully they didn't screw up the check ball in the filler tube. (make sure it takes gas before you get on E)
Usually they take a much easier and quicker route by punching a hole in the plastic tank.
Yah. The main reason is that it is almost impossible to siphon from a modern vehicle any more because there's not a straight line from the filler to the tank. There are obstructions and baffles in the way. It's much simpler to just punch a hole in the tank and go.
