I have an ongoing problem with rubber vacuum line reducers splitting. Here is a picture of the reducers I'm using.
They've split at my vacuum tree connections and at my air injection valve fittings.
What is the solution to this?
I figure I'll try a straight piece of 1/4" inner diameter hose, then use a hard plastic reducer to get down to my 5/32" vacuum line.
I'm on my third reducer in a few months at my vacuum tree connection for my EVR line.
Toss those and the plastic hoses that those go into and use regular vacuum hose for the entire run.
That's what I'm not understanding. I put 5/32" rubber lines on my truck to replace the original vacuum lines. I need a way to reduce down from the larger vacuum tree nipple, to the 5/32" size hose. The vacuum tree nipple that the elbow is connected to looks like 1/4" to me. A straight reducer split, so I tried an elbow. It spit too.
But, it will still need to be reduced down at the EVR end won't it? Or is there vacuum line that will fit the larger vacuum tree nipple and the smaller EVR nipple?
