Need Distributor Primary Lead Wire...
1965 F100 w/ 352 V8 - stock ignition
So I am learning my way around the MPAC and found the part I need is C1VF 122216-A (DW-12). The lead sticking out of the distributor is 12" long so I am guessing that DW-12 might refer to 12" long.
I found some NOS parts for big $$ and I'm not convinced that they won't have cracking insulation like my lead has. Some of the auto parts stores say STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS FDL46 fits whereas others say that it does not. I'm guessing that the FDL-46 is much longer than 12" based on the photos I've seen so it would "work" but is not correct being too long. I'd like to find the proper length part. I've googled and haven't found anything. Anyone have a lead or recommendation?STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS FDL46

The SMP one works just fine. If you have an original distributor you need to take it apart and look at the vacuum advance plate. The original Autolite plates were not a good design and the little nylon buttons that it sits on wear out and fall out. The newer style Motorcraft design is much better.
