Sync 1 issues, 2016 F250, can I upgrade?

Sync 1 issues, 2016 F250, can I upgrade?
I have a 2016 F250 XLT. It has sync 1 from what I can tell, with no screen, only a cd/am/fm radio. It has the controls on tje steering wheel too. Lately I noticed my phone wont connect. I tried reconnecting, tried a reboot, un- hooking the batteries, pulling the fuse, nothing fixed it. It would let me make calls for a little while this afternoon, then that went away again. Now the button with a phone on it no longer works. I can't pull up the sync menu. From what I can find online, it sounds like the APIM may be bad.
i did some searching for a replacement. I'm seeing lots of replacements for later versions of Sync but none that I'm sure will fit mine. They all have a pictures of at least the small, cheap screen. Mine just looks like a radio. Anyone know if they are still available or are the same?
Is it possible to get parts for a better sync version, with a screen, and swap the whole works? I saw a junkyard set up advertised that had a screen, some harness, the APIM, and the hvac button/bezel set up all together. But i didn't know if my wiring harness would have all the connections. Or is it all behind the dash anyway waiting?
